OFQUAL Certificated Fire Safety Course – Level 2 and SCQF Level 5 (Scotland)
Course Duration: Approx 3.5 Hours with Live Fire Practical.
Course Description
This course is designed to meet legal requirements for fire safety in the workplace. It will also give training to those who are tasked with the roles of Fire Marshal or Fire Warden.
Our Fire Safety trainers all have years of service with different Fire Services and will bring this first hand experience to your staff.
The importance of fire safety in the workplace is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training. We will provide this training and show that most fires in the workplace are preventable.
We will then build on this knowledge of how to look after the business day to day. A great emphasis is placed on how to prevent fires but we also prepare Fire Marshall’s or Wardens with the knowledge of how to look after themselves, other building users and the building itself, in the event of a fire.
Why not add our live fire practical to your course where your staff get hands on with fire extinguishers to extinguish our controlled live fire rig. This is usually the delegates favourite part of the course.
We can help you with documents such as Fire Marshal ‘What to do in the event of a fire’ and contractor brief sheets, online fire log books etc should you need them, for free, when you book our fire courses.
Each participant receives a certificate to prove their qualification / attendance after successfully completing the course and a reference book to refresh knowledge both during and after the course.
This course can either be taken as a 1st Choice certificate of attendance or as an OfQual Level 2 in Fire Safety.
Our courses comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
This course complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and is usually delivered at your premises at a time to suit your operations.
To ensure business continuity for those who work hybrid or remotely, you may wish to book your staff onto our virtual sessions. They can log on from anywhere as long as they have a good internet connection and our trainers will carry out exactly the same live course, only remotely. Find out more by clicking here.
Should you wish to train away from your buildings, we can arrange a suitable venue.
If you have a smaller number of people to attend, it may work out better for your company to attend on of our ‘Open Courses’, should any be planned. You can find out more by clicking here.

Testimonial:
We have employed the services of 1st Choice Safety Training & Consultancy for around 8 years to carry out the Fire Training to all of our staff.
They provided 3 levels of training, Fire Awareness for all staff, Fire Marshal for those tasked with this role and Incident Leader training for our Senior Managers to administer a real situation. All with live fire practical training.
Feedback has always been brilliant, our staff love the fact that our training will be provided by experienced Firefighters meaning our staff can learn from their vast experiences.
We have also utilised 1st Choice for site Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Door Inspections and have helped to implement new fire strategies and plans.
We’d always recommend 1st Choice for your fire training & services and look forward to working with them going forward.
Certificate Renewal:
Certification should be renewed at least every 3 years ( or as directed by your insurers). We will provide a polite reminder prior to your staff needing re-training to keep your company compliant. We recommend utlising Fire Drills and staff training to refresh your staff skills.
Max Delegates:
Our maximum is usually 16 but larger groups can be accommodated if required. Please advise us should you have a larger group.
